Actor Mark Anthony Fernandez Nabbed With Marijuana

Pampanga (CNN Philippines) — Actor Mark Anthony Fernandez was arrested for alleged possession of a kilo of marijuana in Angeles City, Pampanga Monday night. Police recovered the illegal substance inside Fernandez' yellow Ford Mustang after a car chase with authorities from Angeles City Police Station 6. Chief Insp. Francisco Guevarra Jr. said Fernandez was flagged down at a checkpoint along Mc Arthur Hi-way in Brgy. Virgen Delos Remedios because his car had no front license plate.
After inspection, police found a widely opened blue bag containing a torn plastic with suspected marijuana, but Fernandez sped away. The actor was nabbed in San Fernando City after a car chase with authorities who were forced to shoot at the tires to stop Fernandez from escaping.

He was brought to the Angeles City Police Station 6, where he is temporarily detained. Fernandez admitted to using marijuana but said it's for medical purposes only.
He went through a drug test Tuesday morning at the Philippine National Police's crime laboratory. He is also scheduled to face inquest proceedings for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities said the actor remained calm and cooperative after last night's arrest. Fernandez, son of late actor Rudy Fernandez and actress Alma Moreno, already entered a drug rehabilitation center in 2004. "We continue to carry out our anti-drug campaign regardless of who will be arrested," Chief Supt. Aaron Aquino, Police Regional Office 3 director, said in a statement. "This only goes to show that, indeed, our all- out war against illegal drugs is not just lip service."

Ramon S. Ang, president and CEO of San Miguel Corp. (SMC), declare his support to President Rodrigo Duterte amidst criticize from various sectors and in the international community.
Ang says the gian conglomerate is investing heavily in manufacturing and infrastructure because the country will boom under the Duterte administrtion.
"Mark my word: This coutnry will fly. This country will be a better place for our children and grandchildren because the drug problem will be eliminated under Duterte," and said.
Ang added that Duterte will be the best President the Philippines hav ever had if he solves the problems of drug, criminality and corruption.
Because of the expected economic surge, SMC is building more airports, seaports and railways and acquiring trains.
Ang said Petron, the leading fuel company, will be expanded; petrochemical and power plants and cement factories will be built by the business conglomerate SMC.

CHRIS BROWN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON

Surrendering after an 11-hour standoff, Chris Brown was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, according to the LAPD.
Reportedly, the victim showed up uninvited with Brown’s friend, and after an argument broke out, Brown took out a gun and threatened her.
Conflicting reports have surfaced, with one claiming Brown was asleep the whole time and had no involvement.
TMZ reports Chris tossed a duffel bag out of the window during the incident 2 guns and drugs.
LAPD Robbery-Homicide is investigating an incident at Chris Brown’s residence after a call at 3:11 a.m. that prompted officers to the scene.
Brown reportedly threatened a woman with a gun at his LA home with friends including Ray J present.
The singer went on Instagram to claim his innocence and rant against police and media.
Six people were seen escorted out of the home according to a FOX 10 live stream.
“[Investigators] still have to interview the victim and any potential witnesses in this incident that may have occurred at Mr. Brown’s house. At this time, that is all the information we have.”
